Dismantling of Crawler excavator Åkerman H14B
We have now begun dismantling an Åkerman H14B, model year 1990, with approximately 18,400 operating hours. The machine is complete and the entire hydraulic system is fully functional, providing good conditions for salvaging many well-performing components.
The Åkerman H14B is a larger crawler excavator within the H-series and represents the heavier class in Åkerman’s range during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The model was developed as a robust production machine for construction, civil engineering and demanding excavation work.
A model in the heavier class
The H14B is positioned in the 22–24 tonne class depending on configuration and undercarriage setup. It has been used in larger construction projects as well as in more demanding operating environments.
Like other Åkerman machines of the period, the H14B was manufactured in Eslöv, Sweden, before the brand was later integrated into Volvo Construction Equipment. For many, this represents a period when Swedish machine manufacturing held a strong international position.

Our 1990 machine therefore represents one of the later production years of the model. With 18,400 operating hours, it reflects the longevity often associated with the H-series.
Dismantling with respect for machine heritage
We are aware that Åkerman holds a special position within the industry. There are enthusiasts and collectors who value models such as the H14B, and we have great respect for that heritage.
At the same time, many of these machines remain in active service. When a machine is taken out of operation but still has functioning systems — as in this case with fully operational hydraulics — it creates an opportunity to support other H14B machines through quality-assessed used parts.
In this way, dismantling helps extend the working life of other machines rather than allowing them to stand idle due to lack of components.
Our dismantling process
- The machine is documented in its current condition.
- Dismantling is carried out methodically and step by step.
- Each component is labelled and registered in our system.
- Condition and function are technically assessed.
- The parts are photographed and published in our webshop.
This ensures that every listed component is properly identified, evaluated and searchable in our online store.
